MSMS CA Events

Teacher Appreciation Breakfasts

Several times a year, we host breakfasts for the staff at MSMS. We bring in delicious pastries, fruit platters and hot coffee. The whole staff was extremely appreciative, and we’d like to thank all the people who donated their time and dollars to the event!

School Makeover

Thanks to all the Caregiver Volunteers and Students who helped create this beautiful and welcoming update to our school’s entry. We hope you enjoy the Fall colors!

Fall Festival

Thank you to all the MSMS community who come out to support the Fall Festival - the 2023 event enjoyed perfect weather, and we had a huge gathering of people enjoying the day! This is a MRPS PIE event with the goal to fund all 4 caregivers' groups in the district.

8th Grade Graduation

Our 8th graders work so hard through their 4 years at MSMS, and we help celebrate their transition to High School by sponsoring a fun dance event after their ceremony! We start preparing to celebrate the 8th graders again in the early spring - if you want to help, email msmscommunications@mrpspie.org to join the committee!

Dance Parties and Socials

MSMS CA provides chaperones for several MSMS dances and socials during the school year, and we gather about 7 tons of snacks to fuel these celebrations. Thanks to all who give their time for these fun events!

Winter Walk to School Day

In 2022, MSMS CA joined with Local Motion’s Safe Routes to School program to hold a Winter Walk to School Day, meant to encourage students to walk or ride to school whenever possible. We had 2 remote meeting spots (the State House and VCFA) where students could meet, and volunteers accompanied the students to the school. There all students enjoyed hot chocolate and stickers, and made it inside in time to start classes!

This was a fun event - if you’d like to coordinate a Walk to School event at MSMS, please contact us at msmscommunication@mrpspie.org.

PowerSchool Portal for Parents: A User’s Guide

PowerSchool is our school system’s technology management system, unifying teachers, administrators, students, curriculum developers and yes, parents and caregivers. It’s not what most of us grew up with and can be a bit baffling to navigate. To give us a hand, Lauren Chabot, our school’s Librarian and Technology Integrationist, made a short video to show how to use PowerSchool to see what’s happening in our students’ classrooms: See current and past assignments, what’s been handed in late or is missing, grades for each subject, upcoming assignments and more. Take a look HERE. If you have more questions, contact your classroom teacher or email Laruen at laurenc@mpsvt.org
